Raising Cattle: A Beginner's Guide

If you’re serious about self-sufficiency, you know that you need to have a system in place for food and energy. You don’t need much space in your backyard to grow your own vegetable garden or to install a small wind turbine. But what if you have plenty of space and you want to make use of it? My answer: think about raising cattle. Cows can solve two problems at once: milk and meat. You can have plenty of both if you put the system in place and know how to take care of your animals.

Memory Foam Mattress
Is this something dangerous or something worth having?
Well for the last couple of weeks, I have been sleeping on my memory foam mattress and its been wonderful. Infact so wonderful that I started to tell everyone I knew to get one as my quality of sleep has just gone from 'everyday-ok' to feeling very energised and rejuvenated in the morning.

HHO - Adventures in HHO and what I got from it
Hi there - its been a while since I wrote about this subject, not because I was being lazy, but because it was so damn interesting and after running for 2 years the car finally gave up to my efforts to increasingly pushing a 998cc car to its ultimate conclusion... cylinder failure. Ok its not so bad, i just like to tell people that so it sounds absolutely catastrophic when in actual fact all that happened was a piston ring in cylinder 1 totally failed and I just cannot be bothered to test further, this HHO technology works, period.

Happy 2010 - New world, New year and new challenges ahead
Welcome to 2010, alot more activity will be happening on your self sufficiency - I've been playing around for a 1 year period and have much more to offer now that I'm back, I left your self sufficiency in a half baked way whilst people are still coming to this site, I've decided to add more than just the current arbitrage of articles n books. This year will truly make you self sufficient with a hand picked selection of ebook compilations and we will be trying to make this as easy for you to buy n download as possible.
We will be heading into being self sufficient in Energy and 'do it yourself' self sufficiency kits along with articles and ways to be self sufficient in the garden and the kitchen. More articles on 'how to' on a variety of subjects besides 'self sufficiency' articles around the house. Infact if there was even more articles maybe we'd be alot better off here at your self sufficiency! Once again I apologise for keeping you lto waiting for so long, I will be implementing a comment system and will be sending out newsletters to the fans of this site.
Thanking you once again for coming here for your self sufficiency advice and needs, I will try harder and write more ideas, articles and information on self sufficiency for you guys!
I also have finished my testing with my car and hydrogen, more information on that in the new year! and also a story about how it all came together in the end!
Wishing you the best fo 2010 and helping you to be more self sufficient.
Peace and prosperity, with a helping of light and love,

What is self sufficiency and self sufficient living? |

What is self sufficiency and can i learn to be self sufficient?
Is self sufficiency when you are able to grow your own food? Does being self sufficient mean you dont rely on others anymore? What benefits are there to self sufficiency? ok - the biggest question of all is what does self sufficiency mean to everyone?
Now, having spent a good morning and year thinking about how I can be more self sufficient whilst at the same time trying to teach the people around me about self sufficiency in the home or garden, it dawned on me that the so called 'real' world which we live and work and play in, is not the same as this 'self sufficient' world we aspire to be yet, even with that in hindsight you could say we just relentlessly take strolls in the matrix and then come back for a good evenings gossip on what happened in the matrix with our friends at the pub or bar.
Ok thats a generalisation but the point is - we live in a place where either a service is operated by a human behind a till or a waiting desk, or we rely on another person to bring us that nice cool beer or serve us food at a restaurant, we may even rely on the public transport driver to bring us to our destination (Shock gasp I do take public transport from time to time - but more on why i dont later). In our world - the current system of thought determines the outcome of our society, yet what we WANT clashes with what we have and what we want to do.... and what we'd like to do... all of this clashes with what we NEED to do.
Is it getting confusing yet? well hold on and stick with me - we're nearly there to the point. Some of you bright sparks would ask... so what do we want, what do we like and what do we need?
Firstly I'd like to point out self sufficiency is not a way of life, it is a way to become more knowledgeable in all the processes we need in our daily lives, from being able to 'put up' shelter, to providing food for ourselves, to making or using tools so that we can then move on to create bigger and more elaborate tools or devices which then save time and ultimately saves us money. Actually in fact it saves us time from 'finding money' to spending or creating new things with the money we have, in my case i've created my own vegetable and herb garden - which now is bearing fruit :). Check back to read this article - I will announce soon as its done. |
